Congress Has a Dirty Little Secret

For the last 30 years Environmental groups, (read Anti Capitalists), have done everything they can to slow energy development in the United States.  You would think the energy crisis during the 1970’s would have been a wake up call but we just went right back to sleep.

With the American people demanding for the government to do something now it’s time to let you in on a dirty little secret Washington doesn’t want you to know.

The government doesn’t have to do anything. Offshore oil deposits and Western oil shale deposits will be open for exploration and development on October 1, 2008.

How is this, you ask?

It seems that the United States Congress has placed a rider on the annual appropriation bill since 1981.  The rider blocks exploration and development of our nations natural resources.  This was backed up by a similar executive order but that has since been rescinded by President George Bush on July 14th of this year.  (George, what took you so long?)

The United states is the only country in the world where it is illegal to develop our offshore resources, however, by the government doing nothing, (I like that idea), exploration can begin October 1, 2008.

Block that rider in the appropriation bill and it is full speed ahead on energy production.

Now you know! Time to hold some feet to the fire.
