Telstar, NASA and the American Spirit
Telstar was a pop hit in August of 1962. I was struck by this song from my youth and searching for it I found this awesome tribute to NASA.
It was an era where Americans still had the attitude that we could do great things and did. Presidents didn’t apologize for America’s greatness and their speaches had the words ‘us’ and ‘we’ much more than ‘I’ and ‘me.’ By today’s standard John F Kennedy was a conservative. Try to get your mind around that one.
One thing is clear to me, the Democrat Party has done more to crush our great nation than anyone in our history. It’s time for them to go.
Lets find some new leaders that can make America great again.
It was a year of Hope—at first in the sense of ``I feel hopeful!’’ and later in the sense of ``I hope this year ends soon!’‘
It was also a year of Change, especially in Washington, where the tired old hacks of yesteryear finally yielded the reins of power to a group of fresh, young, idealistic, new-idea outsiders such as Nancy Pelosi. As a result Washington, rejecting ``business as usual,’’ finally stopped trying to solve every problem by throwing billions of taxpayer dollars at it and instead started trying to solve every problem by throwing trillions of taxpayer dollars at it.

Hey Joe, the consequences for our economy are “dire” because of Senator Dodd’s choice to look the other way. The industry he was supposed to regulate gave and recived special favors from Senator Dodd.

Those are just examples given by CBS. If his role in the Mortgage and Banking crisis was properly investigated the list would be long, very long.

Officials gather in Copenhagen this week for an international climate summit, but business leaders are focusing even more on Washington, where the Obama administration is expected as early as Monday to formally declare carbon dioxide a dangerous pollutant.
An “endangerment” finding by the Environmental Protection Agency could pave the way for the government to require businesses that emit carbon dioxide and five other greenhouse gases to make costly changes in machinery to reduce emissions—even if Congress doesn’t pass pending climate-change legislation. EPA action to regulate emissions could affect the U.S. economy more directly, and more quickly, than any global deal inked in the Danish capital, where no binding agreement is expected.
Many business groups are opposed to EPA efforts to curb a gas as ubiquitous as carbon dioxide.
An EPA endangerment finding “could result in a top-down command-and-control regime that will choke off growth by adding new mandates to virtually every major construction and renovation project,” U.S. Chamber of Commerce President Thomas Donohue said in a statement. “The devil will be in the details, and we look forward to working with the government to ensure we don’t stifle our economic recovery,” he said, noting that the group supports federal legislation.
Just like the EPA stepped in and declared DDT dangerous. The EPA ruling ran counter to the scientific evidence that proved that DDT was safe, the EPA is going to formally declare carbon dioxide a dangerous pollutant.
Whether it is or isn’t doesn’t matter.
The head of EPA declares that carbon dioxide is a dangerous pollutant and then sets targets for reductions through EPA rules and regulations. They thereby bypassing Congress and the American People effectively doing an end-run around the current Climategate fraud. Since the EPA is a government agency it is not accountable to the American People via the ballot box.
Of course this will give Congress and the President reason to pass climate change legislation because they will need to cooperate with the EPA.

This is not being covered in the Obama Press and there appears to be something here that merits further investigation. How it managed to get to Urban Legend so quickly makes me think someone wants to keep this quiet.

Mr. President, America doesn’t want government provided health care, PERIOD!
Americans love their freedom and are not willing to give it up. What your plan does is enslave the whole nation who will have to depend on government for their very life. When govenment makes the decision whether you live or die, there is no freedom.

AARP is one big lie. I used to assume the American Association of Retired Persons was looking out for the interests of… well… retired people. But it’s not. For example in the healthcare debate they are supporting cuts in Medicare… to the tune of $460 billion. And the reason is simple; they collect royalties on the so-called “gap” insurance-the private insurance that Medicare doesn’t cover. The less Medicare, the more private insurance, and thus the more AARP makes. But not you.
The Democrat and Republicans In Name Only, (RINO)s, have lost touch with the American People. They have become the political elite and We the People have become "fly-over country." I am not a Nazi, a terrorist, a member of the KKK, a racist, or a member of an angry mob. I'm not a birther, teabagger, truther or astroturfer. I do, however believe in the original intent of the Founding Fathers, the United States Constituton and the rule of law. I believe that Government should serve the People, not the other way around. I’m an American and conservative to my very core.
