Ahmadinejad - “Countdown to Israel’s destruction has begun”

Iran has been waging a proxy war in Iraq against the United States and US troops for sometime now. Iran has been supplying, engineering and training the Islamic terrorists in Iraq on how to build and detonate powerful improvised explosive devices, (IED). These devices have killed hundreds of our soldiers and thousands of Iraqi civillans. (See US forces find Iranian money in Baghdad raid for the story)

Iran is directly interfering and undermining our mission and no one holds them accountable

Now the leader of Iran has declared, according to this story from ynet news, “Countdown to Israel’s destruction has begun.” Ahmadinejad also went on to include a vague reference to the United States in his rhetoric, “Israel is not the only nation about to collapse, The other “corrupt” nations will also give in to the Islamic republic’s strength and suffer the same fate.

I certainly hope that we have assured Ahmadinejad of the destruction his country would receive if he tries.

Iran wages war against the United States and the response of our leaders is to do nothing. Meanwhile the Democrat’s war against our President continues on a daily basis with no hope for cessation of hostilities. What an irony.

Democrats Hide 36,000 Earmarks aka “Pork”

Apparently the Democrats don’t want you to know what they are going to spend on “Pork” projects. According to the Associated Press article, Democrats Hide Pet Projects From Voters “Democrats are following an order by the House Appropriations Committee chairman to keep the bills free of such earmarks until it is too late for critics to effectively challenge them.” It goes on to say that, “Appropriations Committee members and staff have not had enough time to fully review the 36,000 earmark requests that have flooded the committee.” To me, it sounds like there are so many requests for pet projects the majority just goes along with them without question.

It’s business as usual in Washington DC. Billions after billions of our money being used by politicians to buy votes and stay elected. It never ends.

President Bush Wrong on Immigration

image

Caution: contains story link from CBS News

President Bush has it wrong on immigration. In his speech to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, GA, Bush Defends Immigration Deal. The President is accusing the conservative base of misunderstanding the bill and says about the bill that it, “makes it more likely we can enforce our border and at the same time uphold the great immigrant tradition of the United States of America.”

With all respect to the President this is a slap in the face for everyone that have gone through the process of legal immigration. We currently have immigration laws that are not enforced and a border that appears to be wide open. What I want and what America wants is enforcement of the Immigration laws on the books now. Just recently Rasmussen had a poll that indicated that Just 16% Believe Senate Bill Will Reduce Illegal Immigration.

As usual Washington politicians are going to ram this thing down our throats whether we like it or not. I agree with Peggy Noonan’s assessment in her article in the Wall Street Journal Too Bad - President Bush has torn the conservative coalition asunder.

President Bush is wrong on this one. If he continues to go along with this it is going to be the equivalent of George Bush 41’s breaking the pledge on “read my lips, no new taxes.”  I think the Democrats know this. They have President Bush right where they want him.

Republican Party Chairman Yucks It Up

image

While shafting the American People by granting 20 million lawbreakers amnesty, the Chairman of the Republican Party, Florida Senator Mel, “Hanging with Teddy” Martinez gets a good laugh at our expense. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. This one says it all.

If you look close at the sign on the wall it says “Quiet Please.”  As demonstrated by the US Senators pictured here the rule does not apply to them. Whether it’s conversations in the capitol or the illegal alien invasion of our nation, the rule of law means nothing.

Christianity Bad - Islam Good

Your Government school indoctrination continues. This school “created a new class schedule to make time for Arabic instruction and voluntary prayers.”

If this was done to accomodate Christian students the ACLU would be all over this. Since it’s Islam it gets a pass. It’s all in the name of “diversity” you know.

American Political Orphan - Beginnings

image

I have been a Republican all of my life. I have watched the Republican Party over the past few years lose its way.  The concept of smaller government, less spending and lower taxes is a distant memory.

Where have the conservative politicians disappeared too?  I can barely list Republican politicians who are true conservatives. Every election cycle it seems to be a choice of the lesser of two evils.

I have had a longtime belief that the Democrats, if left in power long enough, will destroy the Nation. Unfortunately if the Republicans continue to abandon their once conservative values they will destroy the Nation as well. It will just take them a little bit longer.

President George Bush was amazing in his response to 9/11 and he did what I would expect any President to do. Also, his policy on lower taxes was a great idea. It has undoubtedly strengthened the economic outlook of America. But! And there is a big but here, the rest of his domestic policies have brought more big government and bigger spending than any other president in my lifetime.

I feel that the current crop of politicians in Washington DC have abandoned the American people. Representative governance has given way to a government dictated to the people from Washington DC. Somehow in the rarefied air inside the beltway they know what’s best for America. At least, that’s what it looks like from here.

This is why I feel like I am an American political orphan. What happened to the Republican Party? What happened to my America?  Where is the America that I grew up in? I can barely recognize it now.

It is my intent to write about the current state of America on these pages.
