Well, unfortunately, I hope I’m wrong, but not very much, and I hope that talk radio and the pollution lobby are right that global warming is not a problem and 940 peer-reviewed scientific articles are wrong. That’s about all we can hope for because, right now, I have to tell you, that the pollution lobby and talk radio is winning this battle, and the will in the United States to do something about this is not what where I think it should be. But that’s the reality of the political situation as I see it right now.
I would like to think that if Carbon Dioxide is a pollutant, James Carville emits a lot more of it than everyone else.
Come on James, ‘pollution lobby’ you must be kidding!
Fortunately Ben Stein had a great reply to Carville…
Well, calling the people who want to keep Americans free to use the kind of energy they want to use the ‘pollution lobby’ is a wild smear…But it’s not the pollution lobby- it’s a lobby for the truth. The truth is that the global temperature peaked around 1998. It’s not gotten any hotter. Instead, it’s gotten cooler. The truth is that there have been periods in the past, 1,000 years ago, 2,500 years ago when it was warmer than it is now when there was no manmade burning of carbon. The truth is that we don’t know the exact interaction between all those events and effects and what they do to the weather….The truth is, we’ve now got a lot of data coming out that the scientific community who are on the side of anthropogenic global warming were cooking the data and were suppressing data to those requesting their data. So, I think the whole thing of fighting global warming may be based on a false premise. Maybe it isn’t, but the fact is we just don’t know at this point.
From the Video, Author Christopher Horner explains….
beyond the e-mails in the actual computer code itself annotated in the double digit number of times we have statements like apply a very artificial correction decline, two exclamation marks, all caps, very artificial.
And it’s in the double digit number of times whereby they say they’re applying an artificial decline to, as the gentleman said, use a trick to hide the decline. And I might be tempted to entertain such fantasy if not for an independent investigation. Thanks to Congress, already proving that these very specific actions and questions were a trick to hide the decline in temperatures.
So they’re trying to brazen this out, Charles, and the president, as you indicated, I believe, is doubling down. They’re panicked. They’re going to politically commit the U.S. in three weeks to a treaty now in violation of their own express policy of waiting for Congress to tell them what they’re able to do because they really do believe they must act now.
Yet, within days of the ClimateGate scandal breaking, Obama surprisingly announced that he’s going to Copenhagen with a pledge for serious carbon dioxide emissions cuts.
Barack Obama has thrown his weight behind a deal on climate change by announcing he will attend the Copenhagen summit with a pledge for a 17 per cent cut in US emissions.
The US president’s pledge removes one of the final obstacles to a deal, as other developed countries have already announced their targets to cut emissions by 2020.
ALSO…
Canada’s prime minister is reversing his position and will attend a United Nations climate change conference in Copenhagen next month, Stephen Harper’s spokesman said Thursday.
Dimitri Soudas announced Harper decided to attend one day after U.S. President Barack Obama and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao announced their attendance at the U.N. talks. Soudas said Harper’s decision was based on the fact that now ‘a critical mass of world leaders will be attending.’
The Plot Thickens!
Along comes ClimateGate, and Obama quickly announced that he’s heading to Copenhagen with a fairly serious emissions cut pledge.
With less than two months to go before the big Copenhagen Conference on global warming, two major nations have said “no thanks” to the no-growth agenda.
It appears that China and India don’t care to sign on to the “no growth” agenda of the United Nations.
William Hawkins, writing in the American Thinker, quotes a piece in China’s Science Times journal that sums up how China — and other developing nations — feel:
Why do the developed countries put an arguable scientific problem on the international negotiations table?” the article’s author, Wang Jin, asks. “The real intention is not for the global temperature increase, but for the restriction of the economic development of the developing countries.
The prospect of domination of the nation’s scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present – and is gravely to be regarded. Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite.
A truthful look at the global warming movement and how the world is being mislead. Al Gore and his elite buddies want to use flawed science to push their agenda. This film is an attempt to shine the light of truth on Al Gore’s fantasy.
They hope to have it shown in every theater, university and school in America. You can donate to their success at their web site.
I had seen this a while back and thought it was a great idea. Now it will be a reality in a few years. If you have ever seen the land fill on the Florida Turnpike near Ft. Lauderdale this is an incredible technology. It’s a plant that consumes garbage and produces enough electricity to power 50,000 homes. When the process is complete the garbage is consumed and the only thing left is a glass block which could probably be used for construction. Mike Chino at Inhabitat has the details. “Plasma Plants Will Vaporize Trash While Generating Energy”
The Democrat and Republicans In Name Only, (RINO)s, have lost touch with the American People. They have become the political elite and We the People have become "fly-over country." I am not a Nazi, a terrorist, a member of the KKK, a racist, or a member of an angry mob. I'm not a birther, teabagger, truther or astroturfer. I do, however believe in the original intent of the Founding Fathers, the United States Constituton and the rule of law. I believe that Government should serve the People, not the other way around. I’m an American and conservative to my very core.
