Moscow Drilling In The Gulf of Mexico

The Washington Times - Obama surrenders gulf oil to Moscow

The Obama administration is poised to ban offshore oil drilling on the outer continental shelf until 2012 or beyond. Meanwhile, Russia is making a bold strategic leap to begin drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico. While the United States attempts to shift gears to alternative fuels to battle the purported evils of carbon emissions, Russia will erect oil derricks off the Cuban coast

Offshore oil production makes economic sense. It creates jobs and helps fulfill America’s vast energy needs. It contributes to the gross domestic product and does not increase the trade deficit. Higher oil supply helps keep a lid on rising prices, and greater American production gives the United States more influence over the global market.

Drilling is also wildly popular with the public. A Pew Research Center poll from February showed 63 percent support for offshore drilling for oil and natural gas. Americans understand the fundamental points: The oil is there, and we need it. If we don’t drill it out, we have to buy it from other countries.

We have the means to become energy independent and choose not to do so due to the destructive policies of the Obama Administration.

At what point does the deliberate destruction of The United States rise to a level high enough to be called treason?

Coal to Gasoline at $30 a Barrel or Less

image

BREAKTHROUGH!

Energy Tribune - Texas Breakthrough on Coal to Gasoline

Globe and Mail - Texas university has eureka moment for coal-to-gas

scientists in Texas say they have found a way to convert coal into gasoline at a cost of less than $30 (U.S.) a barrel - with zero release of pollutants.

Researchers at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) announced last month that they have developed a clean way to turn the cheapest kind of coal - lignite, common in Texas - into synthetic crude. “We go from that [lignite coal] to this really nice liquid,” Brian Dennis, a member of the research team, said in describing the synthetic crude that can be refined into gasoline.

‘scientists in Texas say they have found a way to convert coal into gasoline at a cost of less than $30 (U.S.) a barrel - with zero release of pollutants.’

This is great news! Time to turn the 800 Billion Dollar faucet in the Middle East off. Time for the United States to become energy independent. NO EXCUSES!

Texas lignite coal sells for $18 a tonne. The coal conversion technology uses one tonne of coal to produce 1.5 barrels of crude oil. One barrel of crude produces 42 U.S. gallons of gasoline. In other words, $18 worth of coal yields 63 gallons of gasoline: 0.28 cents a gallon.

Greenpeace Lays Down Guilt Trip

image

Fast Company - ‘We Could’ve Stopped Global Warming…We Didn’t’

The ads all feature a doctored image of a current world leader - so that they look about ten years older - apologising from the future (2020 to be precise) saying, ‘I’m sorry. We could have stopped catastrophic climate change… We didn’t.’

‘It’s an apology from the future aimed at putting pressure on- and just maybe making these world leaders think twice about the consequences of their action or inaction now,’ explains the writer of the ads Toby Cotton of new agency Arc Communications.

‘The brief from Greenpeace International was simple,’ he continues, ‘to put pressure on world leaders to create a fair and binding agreement at Copenhagen.’

The Underbelly Of Dubai

image

With all the talk of Dubai’s financial state there is a side of the Dubai you might not know about.

From The Independent - The dark side of Dubai

Once the manic burst of building has stopped and the whirlwind has slowed, the secrets of Dubai are slowly seeping out. This is a city built from nothing in just a few wild decades on credit and ecocide, suppression and slavery. Dubai is a living metal metaphor for the neo-liberal globalised world that may be crashing – at last – into history.

Obama Administation In Full Panic Mode

From the Video, Author Christopher Horner explains….

beyond the e-mails in the actual computer code itself annotated in the double digit number of times we have statements like apply a very artificial correction decline, two exclamation marks, all caps, very artificial.

And it’s in the double digit number of times whereby they say they’re applying an artificial decline to, as the gentleman said, use a trick to hide the decline. And I might be tempted to entertain such fantasy if not for an independent investigation. Thanks to Congress, already proving that these very specific actions and questions were a trick to hide the decline in temperatures.

So they’re trying to brazen this out, Charles, and the president, as you indicated, I believe, is doubling down. They’re panicked. They’re going to politically commit the U.S. in three weeks to a treaty now in violation of their own express policy of waiting for Congress to tell them what they’re able to do because they really do believe they must act now.

Damn the Evidence - Full Speed Ahead!

More on the Obama Administration changing plans on the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen from NewsBusters - Has ClimateGate Changed Obama’s Global Warming Strategy?

Yet, within days of the ClimateGate scandal breaking, Obama surprisingly announced that he’s going to Copenhagen with a pledge for serious carbon dioxide emissions cuts.

Barack Obama has thrown his weight behind a deal on climate change by announcing he will attend the Copenhagen summit with a pledge for a 17 per cent cut in US emissions.

The US president’s pledge removes one of the final obstacles to a deal, as other developed countries have already announced their targets to cut emissions by 2020.

ALSO…

Canada’s prime minister is reversing his position and will attend a United Nations climate change conference in Copenhagen next month, Stephen Harper’s spokesman said Thursday.

Dimitri Soudas announced Harper decided to attend one day after U.S. President Barack Obama and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao announced their attendance at the U.N. talks. Soudas said Harper’s decision was based on the fact that now ‘a critical mass of world leaders will be attending.’

The Plot Thickens!

Along comes ClimateGate, and Obama quickly announced that he’s heading to Copenhagen with a fairly serious emissions cut pledge.

OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO CEDE SOVEREIGNTY OF THE UNITED STATES

Lord Christopher Monckton sounds the alarm on the United Nations Climate Change Treaty that President Barack Hussain Obama is going to sign in December of this year. Once he has signed this treaty the Sovereignty of the United States of America will be gone forever. This has to be stopped now!

Lord Monckton - Myth Buster

According to GlobalClimateScam.com

Lord Monckton served as a policy adviser to Margaret Thatcher. He has repeatedly challenged Al Gore to a debate to which Gore has refused. Monckton sued to stop Gore’s film “An Inconvenient Truth” from being shown in British schools due to its inaccuracies. The judge found in-favor of Monckton, ordering 9 serious errors in the film to be corrected. Lord Monckton travels internationally in an attempt to educating the public about the myth of global warming.

Click here to Lord Monckton’s entire 95-minute speech in which he utterly destroys the so-called ’science’ behind global warming. This is a presentation based on scientific fact and worth spending 95 minutes to learn the truth. There is a slide deck available from the YouTube Video. If you miss it you can access it here.

Obama’s War On Capitalism

Morris - Waging War on Prosperity

Kerpen - Obama’s Scary Hoover-Style Tax Hikes

Blankley - Obama Lied; the Economy Died

Dick Morris from Townhall.com, Waging War on Prosperity

President Lyndon Johnson’s administration was known for his War on Poverty. President Obama’s will become notable for his War on Prosperity.

We’re speaking, of course, of Obama’s plans to hike income taxes on the most wealthy 2 or 3 percent of the nation. He’s not just raising the top rate to 39.6 percent; he’s also disallowing about one-third of top earner’s deductions, whether for state and local taxes, charitable contributions or mortgage interest. This is an effective hike in their taxes by an average of about 20 percent.

Phil Kerpen from Fox News, Obama’s Scary Hoover-Style Tax Hikes

The composition of the tax hikes in the 2010 budget is frighteningly similar to the Revenue Act of 1932, the much-maligned Hoover tax hikes that put the “Great” in Great Depression by putting an enormous tax burden on millions of Americans, largely through excise taxes. These taxes, raised even further by FDR, were justified by the promise that the funds would be returned in the form of relief programs, which is to say that some portion of the tax revenue, after administrative costs in Washington, would go back to the states with strings attached, often to further political rather than economic objectives.

Despite President Obama’s promise that “If your family earns less than $250,000 a year, you will not see your taxes increase a single dime. I repeat: not one single dime,” his new budget raises 45 percent of its revenue from energy taxes that will be paid by everyone who fills a gas tank, pays an electric bill, or buys anything that was grown, shipped, or manufactured.

If we continue down a path of repeating the policies of the 1930s we risk a repeat of the same results. Let’s hope Congress has the good sense to say no to these Hoover-style tax hikes.

Tony Blankley from the Washington Times, Obama Lied; the Economy Died

“My administration has also begun to go line by line through the federal budget in order to eliminate wasteful and ineffective programs. As you can imagine, this is a process that will take some time. But we’re starting with the biggest lines. We have already identified $2 trillion in savings over the next decade.”

But, lamentably, a few days later, The Washington Post reported: “A senior administration official acknowledged yesterday that the budget does not contain $2 trillion in spending cuts over the next decade. Instead, the figure represents Obama’s total efforts at deficit reduction, including tax hikes [of more than $1 trillion] on families making over $250,000 a year. It also includes hundreds of billions of dollars ‘saved’ by not continuing to spend $170 billion a year in Iraq.”

Only a big government man would think of calling a trillion-dollar tax increase a spending cut or “saving.” Technically, of course, it is true. A trillion-dollar tax increase will reduce spending by a trillion dollars for those private citizens who were taxed. And, from the perspective of the federal government, a trillion dollars taxed is a trillion dollars saved from the greed of the taxpayers who produced the wealth

Garbage to Electricity at 10,000 Degrees

image

I had seen this a while back and thought it was a great idea. Now it will be a reality in a few years. If you have ever seen the land fill on the Florida Turnpike near Ft. Lauderdale this is an incredible technology. It’s a plant that consumes garbage and produces enough electricity to power 50,000 homes. When the process is complete the garbage is consumed and the only thing left is a glass block which could probably be used for construction. Mike Chino at Inhabitat has the details. “Plasma Plants Will Vaporize Trash While Generating Energy
